A space for a timeless naked body
ANML is the work of Andrea, visual artist working in her hometown of Montreal. She is currently running her studio alone to persue an exploration the juxtaposition of spontaneity with the possibilities of the line.
The deconstructed color palette evokes the human skin and concurrently creates space for a timeless nude body. The work alludes to Kandinsky, Japanese calligraphy, as well as the Wabi-sabi aesthetic, through the simplicity of lines and use of color that effortlessly define space.
ANML creates a refined tension between lucid and flowing forms, inciting a shift of perception between the superimposed layers of content. Her emotionally evocative work aims to draw in the viewer by revealing intimate situations, aspects of the human experience, and evidence of the mindset/process of the artist.
Although Andrea's passion for painting and drawing began very early, her love for watercolor really blossomed during her studies at the University's School of Fine Arts. from Rio de Janeiro. His works also offer a sensation of spatial depth due to her studies in architecture at the University of Montreal.
